COVID-19 Vaccine Availability For 5-11 Age Group

HUNTINGTON, West Virginia. The CDC and Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) has recommended that children 5 to 11 years old be vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric vaccine.

The pediatric vaccine is now available at the COVID-19 Vaccine Center at the Huntington Mall, located at 8 Mall Road in the storefront next to Best Buy. No appointment is needed, and parental authorization is required. The COVID-19 Vaccine Center’s hours of operation are as follows:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Thursday: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Marshall Health will host a COVID-19 vaccine clinic from 2 to 5 p.m. tomorrow Friday, Nov. 5, in Harless Auditorium on the ground floor of the Marshall University Medical Center. This clinic will only offer the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for children ages 5-11. Walk-ins only. Limited supply available; first-come, first-served. Call 304-691-1300 for additional information.

Valley Health Systems is now offering COVID-19 to patients 5 to 11 years old in their primary care centers and school-based health centers. Marshall Health will also be offering the pediatric dose in the clinical setting. Parents should call their primary care provider’s office for details on how to obtain the vaccination. Pharmacies and other clinical settings may also offer the vaccine. Parents are urged to call providers directly regarding availability.

Vaccination clinics will be hosted within Cabell County Schools in the upcoming weeks as well. The details of those clinics will be released upon finalization.
